Overview
The HackNotice Global Breaches Dashboard aggregates cyberattack data from across the globe, offering a comprehensive overview of breaches, incidents, and risks affecting multiple industries and geographies. Unlike the Third Party Dashboard, which focuses on monitoring specific third-party vendors, the Global Breaches Dashboard provides visibility into all global breach alerts, enabling users to stay informed about a wide range of cyber threats. This enhanced visibility helps organizations react quickly to emerging incidents, regardless of their association with specific vendors.
Value to Customers
The Global Breaches Dashboard is crucial for organizations that need to monitor global cyber threats and stay ahead of the latest security breaches. By offering a unified view of all global breach alerts, this dashboard helps users to:
Stay informed about global cyber incidents, enabling faster, more informed response to emerging threats.
Understand industry and geographic trends to identify patterns and make data-driven decisions about security posture.
Monitor incidents with the highest severity, ensuring swift action on critical threats.
Improve overall cybersecurity strategies by gaining visibility into global hacking activity, enhancing risk management, and preparing for future cyberattacks.
With this comprehensive dashboard, organizations can better understand the global threat landscape and take proactive steps to mitigate the risk of cyber incidents.
Dashboard Filters
The Global Breaches Dashboard includes several filters that allow users to customize the view and focus on the breach activity most relevant to their organization. All filters are additive, meaning that every selection narrows the dataset to display only incidents that meet all chosen criteria.
Available Filters
• Date Range - Use the date picker to select any custom start and end dates. All modules in the dashboard will update to reflect only breach activity that occurred within the selected timeframe.
• Industries (NAICS – 2-Digit Codes) - The Industries dropdown allows multi-selection across top-level NAICS industry categories. When users select one or more industries, the dashboard displays breach notices affecting only those sectors.
• Regions - The Regions dropdown also supports multi-selection. Selecting one or more regions filters the dashboard to show breach activity limited to the geographic areas chosen.
Note: Only one of these two dimensions—Industry or Region—can be active at a time. If an Industry filter is selected, Region filtering is disabled, and vice versa.
By applying these filters, users can isolate breach activity within specific time periods, industries, or geographies, enabling more targeted threat analysis and more informed decision-making.
Key Features of the Dashboard
1. Sources
Shows the trends in breach notice trends by sourcetype over the last 6 months. This insight allows users to identify any shifts in the sources of cyber threats and adjust their monitoring focus accordingly.
2. Sources last 30 Days
This module tracks the number of breach notices reported by each sourcetype over the last 30 days. It helps users understand the most active sources of cyber threats, such as news outlets, hacker forums, and ransomware reports.
3. Top Issues
This section highlights the top 2 recent trends with the largest increases in cyberattack activity, including incidents with the highest severity. It offers insights into emerging risks and helps organizations prioritize responses based on severity.
4. Industries (Last 30 Days)
This module tracks breach notices trends by industry over the past 30 days. It helps users understand which sectors are being targeted by cyberattacks and which industries require more attention to mitigate risks.
5. Industry Trends in last 30 days
Displays the percentage change in breach notices by industry over the last 30 days. This section highlights industries that are seeing an increase in incidents and can be used to prioritize security measures.
6. Recent High Severity by Industry
Displays the most recent breach notices with the highest severity for the top 6 industries (based on Breach alert severity). This section enables users to identify which industry sectors are facing the most critical threats and need immediate attention.
7. Geographies (Last 30 Days)
This module shows the number of breach notices reported across different geographies in the past 30 days. It helps users assess which regions are experiencing the highest volume of cyber incidents and which regions may pose the greatest risk.
8. Geography Trends in last 30 days
Tracks the percentage change in breach notice activity by geography over the last 30 days. This feature helps users identify emerging regional risks and adapt their monitoring strategies to areas of increasing concern.
9. Recent High Severity by Geography
Displays the most recent breach notices with the highest severity for the top 6 geographies (based on Breach alert severity). This section enables users to identify which regions are facing the most critical threats and need immediate attention.
