I already have antivirus protection; why do I need HackNotice?
HackNotice is a complementary set of security tools to antivirus software, which is used to detect and prevent incoming threats. HackNotice supplements antivirus software with 2 key components: threat intelligence and security awareness.
HackNotice alerts users when their information is leaked on the dark web, and subsequently provides training videos directly related to the type of data that was compromised.
I have data breach insurance; why do I need HackNotice?
Data breach insurance may help pay to notify affected parties, hire a PR firm, or offer credit monitoring services to breach victims. HackNotice can reduce data breach insurance premiums by providing concrete metrics around security awareness and leaked credentials.
How do I install HackNotice?
HackNotice has an extremely lightweight implementation and provides customer success resources to help with onboarding. Once you receive your welcome email, simply login via web browser and begin building your personal watchlist to surface leaks on domains, emails, or usernames. HackNotice also provides an app and Chrome extension.
Do I need a password?
After you receive a welcome email, you can login and set up a password.
Will HackNotice interfere with my security system?
No, we are a completely separate service that will not alter your current system in any way.
How do I know that HackNotice is working?
You will begin to receive either a push alert on the app (or an email from the web portal) alerting you to a new breach. Once an item is added to the watchlist, customers can expect to see relevant hacks and leaks within 2 hours.
Now that HackNotice is activated, what is it doing?
After activation, HackNotice continuously searches all files from the dark web for information designated on your personal watchlist.
What does HackNotice do if it finds that my information may have been compromised? Customers will receive an email alert and push notification for leaks and hacks as they surface. This will include details of the leaked information and news articles or company announcements about the hack.
What do I do if I receive a notice from HackNotice?
After receiving a notice, you will login, review the notice, take any necessary actions, and mark the item as “Fixed”. This will help you maintain an accurate “To-Do”’ list within HackNotice.
I have a HackNotice alert set for one of my email accounts. Do I need it for my others?

If my email information changes, will that affect my HackNotice protection?
Not at all. You will have the ability to set up and change a backup email in order to maintain your account with us.
