Looking to set up the HackNotice Two Factor Authentication? This guide walks you through the steps. To begin, you will need:
- Google Authenticator: Android or iOS
Go to your HackNotice Account Settings
In the middle of the Preferences, you will see a Two Factor Authentication section, with a button Enable. Click the enable button. On hacknotice.com, you will see a QR code like the one below:
On the HackNotice app, you will see a new button "Add to Google Authenticator".
Go ahead and scan the QR code (web) with Google Authenticator, or press the button (app). Google Authenticator will then present you with a token.
Go back to your HackNotice Preferences and type that token into the token text field and press Save/Submit. If it worked properly, you will be notified "You have successfully enabled Two Factor Authentication".
To test out Two Factor Authentication, logout and sign in again. When you sign in, you will be notified that a two-factor authentication token is required, and prompted for the token.
Type in the token from Google Authenticator and continue to sign in. If you were successful, you will be signed in as usual. If not, please make sure that you have the current token (the token changes every 30 seconds) and try again.
